Q. Did God create people so wicked and perverse?

是神将人造得如此邪恶和悖逆的吗？

A. No.

God created them good [1] and in his own image, [2]

that is, in true righteousness and holiness, [3]

so that they might

to praise and glorify him. [5]

Q. Then where does this corrupt human nature come from?

那么，人堕落的本性是从哪里来的？

A. The fall and disobedience of our first parents,

Adam and Eve, in Paradise.1

This fall has so poisoned our nature2

that we are all conceived and born in a sinful condition.3

因着我们最初的父母，亚当和夏娃在伊甸园的堕落和不顺服。[1]这堕落已经如此毒害了我们的本性，[2]以致于我们都是在有罪的状况下成胎而生的。[3]

Q. But are we so corrupt that we are totally unable to do any good and inclined toward all evil?

我们是败坏到了完全无法做任何善事却倾向各样恶事吗？

A. Yes, [1] unless we are born again by the Spirit of God. [2]
